prayer request

I noticed when Ethan woke up this morning that he was breathing much faster than normal. I called for the nurse and she was able to confirm that Ethan's respiratory rate and his heart rate was in fact elevated. Shortly thereafter, Ethan had a chest x-ray which showed fluid in his lungs. He is currently on medication to help rid his body of the excess fluid, but I'm requesting prayer that this situation does not reoccur. Ethan is taking in a lot of fluids (between his formula, blood & platelet transfusions, and medications) and we need him to continue to release those fluids on a regular basis (ie: more wet and dirty diapers!). So far, this isn't a huge concern, however we would appreciate your prayers that it does not become more serious.

How sweet he is. I have been in the womens prayer group on Sunday nights but this is my first time on the blog. I read this this morning and thought about your family: "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, its about learing to dance in the rain" Your godly testimony is an example of dancing in the rain. We will continue to pray.

Hi,
You don't know me, but I met your friend, Rachel Barrett, today, and she sent me your link.
My sweet baby boy Dillon, became an angel April 18,2008 at Boston Childrens'. He had a very rare form of blood condition called myelofibrosis. He was in conditioning, 4 days away from a 6 out of 6 marrow transplant when his little heart just gave up, and he went with God.
I commend you and your husband on your walk for the Jimmy Fund. My husband is riding in a 100 mile bike ride for Team in Training for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society in September, and I am attempting a marathon in October, also for the TNT. Its just something we feel the need to do in our precious baby's name. (He was 2 1/2, actually his birthday is coming up in September). I know how exhausted you must feel and the joy mixed with fear, but be strong...to a point; let others do for you also, you need the help and whatever rest you can get!!!
Please take care and know our family will be thinking of you often.
Hug Ethan for me!

After we prayed for you all in Sunday school this morning, we talked about faith and the confidence that we can have in our great God's healing power. "Lord, teach us to pray" was our theme. We will continue to meet with you before the throne of God. Love, the Hunts and many other friends

Kasey, we will definitely be praying for Ethan.

Dumb question, will Ethan have to have more than one cord transplant? I was reading on line about blood cord transplants and it said something about more than one...

We will be praying for little Ethan to get rid of those extra fluids. So many at our church are asking about you all. Thank you for having this blog and keeping up with it so regularly - it helps us to pray more specifically. I pray that you have a wonderful nights rest and that Ethan wakes up his normal happy self, but soaked right through his little diaper :)! Love and prayers, Sara and family
