Hello all. Today is the day that we will meet with the surgeon who would preform Ethan's surgery to remove his spleen - should we decide to go that route. Our consultation with him is at 3:00 this afternoon, and due to the timing of everything, Adam and I will need to have made a final decision by tonight. I honestly don't have a strong feeling one way or another. And since we really could go either way, please continue to pray for the Lord's clear direction and wisdom to be given to us as we speak to the surgeon. We will base our decision on his professional opinion about how harmful (or not) the surgery could be on Ethan's body. So maybe the prayer should be that the surgeon takes the time to be thoughtful and clear in his explanation of his own pros and cons with the surgery. I pray he is extremely realistic and assured one way or another.
I am also taking Ethan to an outpatient visit this morning at 10:30, so also pray that his counts are good and that he doesn't need any transfusions (he had a blood and platelet transfusion last Thursday).
I will update you all tomorrow with our decision about Ethan's spleen, thank you for praying!
