New Pictures

I've updated some of the new pictures on the side of the blog (look to the right), as well as posted some new ones here. Happy Four Months and first Memorial Day, Ethan! Oh, and since all the pics I normally post are of his adorable smile, I thought I'd share one of his "not so happy" moments as well! I'm quite confident he had enough of all the camera flashing over the past couple of days.

Be in prayer for his spleen to shrink and for blood counts to stabilize as we go back for another outpatient visit tomorrow (Tuesday). His spleen is a little bit larger than it has been over the past couple of weeks and he needed more blood transfusions this time around at home than he did the last time. I'm hoping to talk with the doctor tomorrow about whether or not this last round of chemo was as effective as the first time (we used a weaker dose this last time). Regardless, we will be re-admitted on Thursday for another session of chemo treatments. Be in prayer that wisdom is given to us and the doctors as we discuss the plan of action this time around.

Big Hugs to you all.

p.s. - Please be in prayer for baby Lydia (see bottom right of my blog for her website link). She is currently undergoing a bone marrow transplant and her mom updates the site with prayer requests as they come up. She has infant leukemia and is only about 8 months old, I think. As I read her website (updated by her mom, Liz), I know that we will soon be in her shoes.

Kasey, I don't know if you know who I am but my daughter Emalie attended ECA until we moved last October - I was also a sub at ECA. I just want to let you know that we are praying and the ladies at our church prayer group are also praying for you, Adam, and Ethan as well as for your extended family. Reading your posts about your own spiritual journey are both encouraging and humbling for me.
There is a song that says:
Keep believing in what you know is true. Keep believing; you know the Lord will see you through. When troubles rise in your life and you don't know what to do, you'll be fine if you just keep believing.
That is my prayer for you today.
God bless you!

What beautiful pictures!! He is growing so fast, right before our eyes....and the real beauty of it all is that he looks so good!!
Happy Birthday Adam!
Kasey,
I am so happy that your sister was able to come and spend some time with you, sisters are important!! (I know, I have 2 of them). There is a special bond you have with them that you have with no one else.
We are constantly praying. Praise the Lord all those prayers were answered up to now. What a thing to read!! We ALL need that knowledge! God does answer prayer!
Kasey, you are pouring your heart out to all of us, and I am going to pray for you specifically to have all that "junk" cleaned out. Keep trusting, keep praying, keep your eyes up!! You are not alone in your struggles inside, and God knows that, HE has a way of cleaning for all of us, and we must keep listening to that "still small voice" that speaks to us all the time. Sometimes we are WAY to loud to hear it though.... :o)
God is doing something in your life, in Adams life and all the people surrounding you in love and covering you in prayers...He is doing something in all of us. Isn't it amazing that God can use a beautiful little baby to get us all to the place HE wants us to be!!????
Lord Jesus, be with Kasey and Ethan this week as they go to the hospital for more chemo, keep Ethans blood count good and shrink that spleen, Lord, you can do that in the blink of an eye. Lord, help Adam to be the strong leader of that home, help him to be able to concentrate on his work each day and be able to do what he is supposed to do there. It is so difficult, Lord, for him to keep focused on his work when the 2 people he loves most in this world are in a daily process of basic "survival mode" at times. Help him to be the husband that Kasey needs each and every day and the father that Ethan needs too. Keep Kasey and Adam healthy and give them some peaceful sleep, Lord, as that is something they both need to get through each day.
Lord, I pray a hedge of protection around this little family, and may it grow stronger and higher with each prayer that is sent up for them by so many loved ones and strangers!
I pray all this and more, in Your Precious Name.

Kasey,
Just dropping by to say hi - and see how Ethan was doing today. I've been spreading the word to all we know to pray for Ethan and for you and Adam as you continue this journey. We know exactly what you are going through. We are praying for God to continue His work in your life unto completion. Looking forward to hearing how Ethan's week is going and how you are faring. Keep on seeking God's strength. Again, the invitation is always open to call if you need or want to. Especially as the BMT process is coming up, please know - we're here for you if we can help or encourage at all.

Ethan is such a cute little boy!! He looks like you, Kasey, in the picture to the right where he's smiling big and clenching his fists; and he looks like Adam in the one where he is in his carseat or stroller, holding his blanket.

A sweet little boy that we are thinking of and praying for regularly!
