God's Plan is Perfect

God gives us a child to love in our home.
He trusts us to raise but he’s only on loan.
He has a purpose for each little babe,
To grow as He chooses with the plan He has made.
We think that we own them, then we understand,
That God holds them all in the palm of His Hand.
He cares for the sparrow that falls from the tree,
How much more does he love and protect our baby.
And even the trials our children may face,
Are not a surprise to the God of all Grace.
And somehow as parents we can make it through,
Knowing God’s in control of all trials too.
Why does it happen we can’t understand,
But we know we can trust that the Lord has a plan.
Perhaps through the trials that happen today,
Other Christians remember that they need to pray.
Perhaps we will see the Glory that came,
To our Lord and Savior during our pain.
Perhaps some may meet us in Heaven some day,
Saying it was our trial that helped show them the way.
But whatever He chooses we know we can rest,
On the promise in His Word that He knows what’s best.

I love you so much, Kase. God is able to draw others closer to Him through little Ethan. Words cannot express how proud I am of you. It is amazingly difficult to see past the pain of all of this and see God's will. But that's exactly what we're all clinging to....that God will bring amazing things in His own time.

For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:37

What a hard story to accept when things are hard. I would want to say, "No God, leave him with me!", but I learned when Dave had his accident that He sometimes has a plan that is FAR different than ours. You keep trusting in Him and His plan.

Remember, you are the best mom Ethan could have ever gotten. Being with you is a gift to him, and he is a gift to you as well!

Adam and Kasey,
We are so sorry that you are going thru this trying time. Know this that we are praying fervently for Ethan and that God will give you both strength and for the Lord to direct the hands of the doctors. What a great idea to start a blog! Deut 31:6

Dear Kasey and Adam,
I just finished reading your words on precious Ethan. Now thru tears of hope, I'm writing you quickly to say I will be praying and telling everyone I know to do the same. Adam may not know, but I ended up being a pediatric nurse here in the children's hospital in Greenville, SC. I work occasionally on the Hem/Onc pediatric floor, and I can honestly say we see miracles ALL the time in some of the worse "cases"! Your opening poem says it so well...God has a perfect plan! We have just been blessed with our 3rd son who is now only 3 weeks old, so your story is even MORE close to home to me! Kasey, your strong faith as a new mother amazes and humbles me! God is good.
With much prayer,
Adam's ol' classmate & rival:),

Kasey and Adam, I have been praying almost continuously for you and Ethan since Wed morning. My heart aches for you. I believe that God is listening to all the prayers of the hundreds of people, some that don't even know you, but are "siblings in the Lord" with you. We all care so much. We sang a song at church today that so touched my heart concerning your situation and hopefully will touch yours.

He Knows My Name

I have a Maker;
He formed my heart.
Before even time began,
My life was in His hand.

Chorus:
He knows my name;
He knows my every thought.
He sees each tear that falls
And hears me when I call.

I have a Father;
He calls me His own.
He’ll never leave me,
No matter where I go.

Love, Kim & Gary

Starting a blog was a great idea! The love you have for Ethan and God comes out in your words and thoughts.

You don't know me but I was emailed your prayer request from Amy. Please know we are all praying for a miracle for Ethan. We have passed this to all the people we know as well. God Bless you. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help your family with. I know God's hands are on you all. Please keep the faith. We will pray everyday for your little precious boy.

Adam, Kasey and Ethan:

I was shocked to hear the news about Ethan. My heart goes out to you guys during this tough time. Just remember that God is in control and he has a plan. Wait on his timing and trust that he knows what he's doing, even if we don't understand. Kerry and I will be praying hard for you guys.

Kasey,
The opening poem was beautiful and after reading those wonderful words, I faithfully repeated AMEN over and over again. After Lainey's recent diagnosis of cystic fibrosis, Cory and I know that God has a perfect plan for our family and He will faithfully be with us every step of the way. We choose HOPE and JOY every day just like you are doing for your sweet baby boy!! Hope is a beautiful thing to hold on to and we know that He is responsible for miracles EVERY DAY. Many continued prayers for you and your beautiful family!
All our love,
Jennifer, Cory, and Lainey Jaetzold

I received the link to your blog from a friend currently living in Hartford but I know her thru work in Atlanta. It is true that the internet brings us together no matter how many miles are between. Please know that my husband and I are praying for Ethan all the way from Duncan Arizona. My daughter is the team leader for a Relay for LIfe team in Kennesaw Ga., and her team has added Ethan to their group of people their 2008 Relay efforts are especially directed to. I myself am a 3 time cander survivor so hold to your faith and know that this disease can be beaten!
